Jack's Baptism

Mimi planned a very special day for Jack with his baptism at the church she and papa attend - People's Church in East Lansing. Donna and Averie flew in from Atlanta and uncle Bill came in from LA, just before his big trip to Spain to shoot a BMW commercial. Donna and Bill are Jack's godparents.

Of course, I cried. Jack, per usual, took charge and behaved like a minister dabbing his hand in the holy water and touching foreheads. Pastor Penny did a great job welcoming Jack to Christianity. We are all so blessed to have had such a great experience and such a wonderful family (even if we like to bicker a little. He he!).

After the church, we headed the the University Club to enjoy a brunch that was organized by grandma Maxie as well. It was perfect and totally private - such a treat! In attendance were Jake, Maxine, Donna, Averie, Jackie, Janet, John, Jack and me. We thought about swimming after the brunch, but it was scorching hot as it's been all summer. Instead we headed the the Ferrises and took in a couple home movies of John and Bill as kids. It was a great day! The worst part? Saying goodbye to everyone. Sniff.
